His arrival was not announced in advance – information about the visit appeared only after the Serbian leader has already left the country. According to the Serbian media, Vuchich arrived in Odessa, where he should take part in the Summit “Ukraine-Southeastern Europe”.
Particular attention is attracted to this visit by the fact that Alexander Vuchich is known for his pro -Russian views. Serbia traditionally maintains close ties with Russia, and Vuchich himself has repeatedly made statements that testify to his sympathies for the Kremlin.
At the same time, its appearance in Ukraine, especially in the context of the International Summit, can testify to Belgrade’s desire to maintain a balance in a difficult geopolitical situation.
The summit in Odessa brings together leaders of Southeastern Europe to discuss security and political issues concerning the region. Vicich’s involvement in this event can be a signal of Serbia’s readiness to take an active part in dialogue with Ukraine and its neighbors.
The official goal of the visit is to participate in the regional summit, but the details of the agenda are not disclosed.
