On June 11, Romanian President Nikusor Dan arrived in Odessa to join the fourth summit “Ukraine-Southeastern Europe” organized by President Vladimir Zelensky.

The event united the region’s leaders to discuss key issues of security, cooperation and support of Ukraine in opposition to Russia’s aggression.
During the summit, Nikusor Dan confirmed Romania’s constant position on Ukraine’s support at all levels. He stressed that Bucharest remains a fair and long peace, and ready to join the restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure.
Separately, the Romanian leader emphasized the need to maintain the unity of the region’s countries to strengthen the overall security of the European continent.
The President Dan paid special attention to the Black Sea, focusing on the safety of trade routes that are critical to the economy of the whole region.
According to him, stability in the Black Sea basin directly affects the welfare and development of the countries of Southeastern Europe.
As part of the visit to Odessa, Nikusor Dan also participated in the first tripartite meeting at the highest level between Romania, Moldova and Ukraine.
Leaders discussed strategic infrastructure projects, in particular in the field of energy, as well as issues of European integration and strengthening of security in the field of security.
This format opens up new opportunities for regional interaction and joint confrontation of threats from the Russian Federation.
