Former deputy chairman of the Presidential Administration Andriy Portnov, despite the won laws, is still in the “Register of State Secrets” of the NGO “Honest”.
Portnov demanded to delete his profile from this list, but the organization was in no hurry to comply with the court decision, arguing that the facts collected by the media confirm its involvement in action against Ukraine. The courts ignored these arguments, standing on the side of Portnov.
The register of state -owned states was created in March 2022 against the background of full -scale aggression of Russia against Ukraine. It is included in persons suspected of cooperation with the enemy, the spread of pro -Russian propaganda or financial support of the Russian Federation.
The Portnova card appeared in the registry on May 25, 2022. The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv and the Kyiv Court of Appeal satisfied the claim of Portnov, obliging to “honestly” its profile and refute information about cooperation with the Russian authorities.
However, the organization performed only part of the decisions – paid compensation for legal aid in the amount of about 100 thousand hryvnias, but did not remove the profile, for which it received two penalties of 5 thousand hryvnias. The last time of execution of the court decision is May 29.
“Honestly” also filed a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court to challenge these decisions.
At the same time, in May 2025 Andrei Portnov was shot in Spain. Police view the version of accounting as the main motive of murder.
Portnov died near an American school in Madrid when he brought children to study.
We will remind, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv obliged the TV channel “Direct” and People’s Deputy Vladimir Aryev to refute widespread information about lawyer Andriy Portnov. He must also pay compensation.
