Polish farmers blocked the Medica-Sheghini checkpoint on the border with Ukraine, and the protest has been going on for two days.

According to Andrii Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the protest may be extended, as Polish farmers say their action could last up to 48 hours, and possibly longer.

The main demand of farmers is to limit the movement of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons. The protesters announced that they would allow no more than one truck per hour. At the same time, there are currently no long queues of trucks at the checkpoint.

Demchenko also emphasized that drivers who register in the electronic queue will receive a message about the specific time and date of crossing the border, so they do not have to be physically at the checkpoint.

We will remind that in the morning Polish farmers started a new strike on the border with Ukraine on Saturday, November 23. The movement of trucks was restricted.

Only in March, due to blocking of the border by Polish farmers, Ukraine lost UAH 6.5 billion in customs revenue.
