Polish carriers, who blocked the movement of freight transport for several days through the checkpoint “Yagodin-Dorogusk” on the Ukrainian-Polish border, completed their action.
This was reported in the State Border Service of Ukraine with reference to information of Polish colleagues.
According to border guards, protesters stopped blocking at 22:30 in Kyiv time, and now the design of trucks in both directions – both in Ukraine and Poland – is carried out in normal mode.
The blockade at this checkpoint lasted from 16:00 on May 12. Polish carriers have announced that only one truck per hour for entry and one will pass.
Because of this, the traffic through Yagodin-Dorogusk was almost completely stopped, and many Ukrainian drivers who went to entry to Ukraine were forced to discharge from the electronic queue and look for alternative routes to return home.
The demands of Polish carriers on changes in the rules of crossing the border and competition with Ukrainian companies were the reason for the protest.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Community and Territories has appealed to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland and the European Commission to facilitate the situation and ensure unobstructed traffic across the border.
We will remind, the Court of Appeal of Lublin on May 13 confirmed the right of the mayor to prohibit the protest of carriers, which blocked the checkpoint “Yagodin-Dorogusk” on the border with Ukraine.
