The tragic event happened in the Engineering department of the Kherson city community. A group of employees of the explosives service went on another mission to verify the information of local residents about the ammunition left behind after the Russian drone attack.
Police officers were demining a private home when the explosion occurred.
Police captain Oleksandr Viter was mortally wounded. He passed away at the age of 41.
Oleksandr devoted 10 years to the service in the internal affairs bodies, he worked in the battalion of the special purpose police patrol service “Kherson” and in the explosives department.
It was previously reported that during the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, a medic of the 3rd separate assault brigade, sergeant Valentina Nagorna (Valkyrie) and her boyfriend, a fighter of the same brigade, Danylo “Berserk” Lyashkevich, were killed.
