Poland has officially joined the Ukraine2EU program aimed at supporting Ukraine on its way to joining the European Union.
This was announced by Oleksandr Kornienko, the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
The announcement was made during an informal meeting of EU ministers on European affairs. The participation of Poland, which will contribute 1 million euros to the program, should strengthen support for Ukrainian European integration, ensure the exchange of experience regarding the implementation of reforms, and expand the institutional capacity of the Verkhovna Rada.
Kornienko emphasized that the parliament plays a key role in bringing Ukrainian legislation closer to EU norms, because this process requires deep reforms, coordination and institutional readiness. Support from Poland will directly help Ukraine adopt and implement the EU acquis more effectively.
The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, did not receive constant information about the plans to transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, which remain in service with the Polish Air Force.
Poland confirmedwhich is discussing with Ukraine the transfer of 14 MiG-29 fighters: 11 single-seater and 3 two-seater, modernized in 2011-2014.
