On March 19, 175 of our defenders managed to exchange from the Russian captivity, and the Russian Federation handed over 22 more seriously wounded fighters.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed about it.

“This is one of the largest exchanges. Our soldiers, sergeants and officers return. Warriors who fought for our freedom in the ranks of the Armed Forces, Navy, National Guard, Territorial Defense and Border Service. They defended Ukraine in different directions – in Mariupol, in Azovstal, in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, as well as Kharkiv, Mykolaiv region, Zaporozhye, Sumy and Kurschyna, ”he wrote in the telegram.

Zelensky thanked for the work of the team that is engaged in the search for Ukrainian prisoners and exchanges, and the United Arab Emirates for mediation.

We will remind, this exchange was announced by Putin during a conversation with Trump on March 18, giving it for his gesture of goodwill. However, Zelensky pointed out that he was prepared for a long time.
