Detectives of the State Bureau of Investigation with the support of the management of the State Migration Service exposed a corruption scheme in Ivano-Frankivsk.

The suspicion was informed by the head of the department and his subordinate from the Western Interregional DMS Office, as well as a translator who helped them demand money from foreigners.
During August – October 2025, the attackers organized a scheme of illegal earnings on migrants. They demanded $ 5.5 thousand for seven foreigners for extending their stay in Ukraine.
During this time, corrupt officials managed to get $ 3.8 thousand. The translator played the role of the mediator – he received part of the money and handed them over to the accomplices, and the rest of the money was given to the officials directly.
The detention of one of the participants of the scheme took place in dramatic circumstances. Law enforcement officers found it not in the workplace, but in the hall of gambling machines, where he spent working hours instead of performing his duties.
During searches in the premises of the migration service, the homes of the suspects and the translator office, they seized documents, mobile phones and cash.
We will remind, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the deputy commander of one of the military units of Lviv region, who used subordinates of servicemen for their own purposes.
The DBR also suspects the ex-head of the Department of the Defense Ministry of Defense of 322 million UAH.
