The employees of the Kyiv Customs found two pieces of raw amber in international postal departures that headed from Rivne to the United Kingdom and the United States.
This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
The sesers declared amber as souvenirs. However, the examination confirmed that it is precious stones of organogenic formation – the untreated amber of the species of succitin.
The stones are unique in size – 158 mm and 151 mm, and the weight of the samples is 661 g and 505 g.
According to the legislation, it is forbidden to send precious stones without announcement. Burshtyn’s customs officers seized.
We will remind that in the Rivne region in the village of Lake Varas district during a search police seized about 42 kg of amber.
