The State Service of Food Safety and Consumer Protection (State Consumer Service) resumed state control over prices for medicinal products in March this year.
Since then, inspectors have conducted 776 pharmacies around the country. According to the results of inspections to those establishments that failed to comply with the restrictions on the mark -up for medicines, they imposed penalties in the amount of more than UAH 1.8 million.
In addition, pharmacies responsible for violations were additionally fined for another 163.7 thousand UAH.
The department emphasizes that “the creation of an effective system of ensuring price stability and restraining inflationary processes in the pharmaceutical market over a period of martial law” is one of the key priorities.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 1,200 citizens have been submitted to the State Consumer Service for selling medicines at inflated prices.
The most complaints came from the inhabitants of Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Khmelnitsky and Cherkasy regions, as well as Kiev.
The service emphasizes: “Every citizen has the right to contact the State Consumer Service and its territorial bodies in case of cases of selling medicinal products at inflated prices.”
