NABU and SAP have suspected the current People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Yevhen Shevchenko, of laundering more than 9 million hryvnias, obtained illegally.
This is reported by the press service National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
NABU did not mention the name of the people’s deputy, however, according to media sources, it is about Yevhen Shevchenko.
According to the investigation, the people’s deputy took over the funds of a private company, promising its representatives assistance in obtaining a permit for cross-border transportation of mineral fertilizers. Having received money on the account of a close person, the suspect did not take any actions in the interests of the company.
In order to hide the illegal origin of the funds, the people’s deputy developed a scheme for their legalization.
Initially, the sum of more than 9 million hryvnias was transferred to the accounts of a legal company owned by a close relative of the deputy, under the guise of payment for the provision of legal services.
Later, part of these funds were transferred to another account and spent on the purchase of two premium class cars – BMW X5 M (F95) and Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG.
Subsequently, the suspect began to openly use these cars, creating the appearance that they were purchased with legitimate business income.
The actions of a person are qualified under Part 2 of Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Other circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in it are also established.

In March 2022 Yevhen Shevchenko tried to leave the country across the border with Poland allegedly for negotiations with Lukashenka. He was caught and sent back to Kyiv.
In November 2024, it became known that Yevgena Shevchenko suspect in systematic information-subversive activity in the interests of the Russian Federation. In particular, he spread Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine and Ukrainian defenders. Shevchenko used his own YouTube and Telegram channels to spread fakes.
