Specialists of the Legal Advisor for IDPs told how pensions in Ukraine will change from March 1 after indexation. On February 25, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to index pensions, payments should increase for more than 10 million citizens.

Experts told about it on Facebook.

Pensions will be recalculated with an increase of 1.115. The amount of the pension allowance will be 11.5 % of the amount received, the lawyers said.

Thus, the average pension will increase to 6 345 UAH, and indexation will be subject to pensions appointed by December 31, 2024 inclusive.

The maximum indexation amount is 1500 UAH, and the minimum – 100 UAH.

Indexation concerns the following payments.

  • Pensions to persons dismissed from military service and their families (except for persons from the conscripts).
  • Disability pensions occurring as a result of injury or disease due to the Chornobyl disaster.
  • Pensions for special services to Ukraine, established by rehabilitated fighters for independence of Ukraine in the XX century.
  • Pensions of civil servants, employees of local self -government bodies, researchers.
  • Pensions for persons to whom such a pension was awarded under the Law on Compulsory State Pension Insurance by December 31, 2024.
  • Monthly insurance payments to the victims of an accident at work or occupational illness that caused disability and persons who are entitled to insurance payments in the event of the victim’s death.

Also provided for additional guarantees of minimum pension payments for:

  • non -working pensioners who have reached the age of 65 and have 35 years insurance for men and 30 years for women – not lower than 3 758 UAH;

  • pensioners aged 70 to 80 years, which have 35 years of insurance for men and 30 years for women – not lower than 3 613 UAH;
  • pensioners who are 70 years old, but their insurance experience of less than 35 years in men and 30 years in women – the minimum pension payment is calculated in the amount proportional to the acquired insurance period, based on the minimum payment of UAH 3 323;
  • pensioners, aged 75 to 80, in the presence of insurance experience of not less than 25 years in men and at least 20 years in women – not less than 3 613 UAH;
  • Other categories of non -operating pensioners – not lower than 3 038 UAH.

The recalculation of pensions will be automatically carried out, without additional pensioners. From April 1, pensions for working pensioners are automatically transferred, taking into account the updated (increased) insurance period.

Earlier, the Pension Fund of Ukraine completed the financing of pensions for February 2025. The amount of UAH 62.2 billion was allocated for pension payments.

Earlier, we wrote that the pensions of security forces are ten times higher than that of the rest of the citizens. One of the reasons is the courts that help to bypass payments, the other is a disability status, which also entitles additional payments. In the Cabinet and Council, they want to reform and equalize payments for all Ukrainians.

Forbes Ukraine has also explored who receives high pensions and how to change special specialty.
