Honorary Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret officially drew up a spiritual testament in which he called on the clergy to end the quarrels and finally unite all Orthodox branches of Ukraine into a single independent Local Church, independent of Moscow.
In his will, Filaret emphasizes that he devoted his life to building an independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church and believes in the complete unification of Ukrainian Orthodoxy.

- He insists that the unification council should be held in Kyiv as the spiritual center of the Ukrainian state.
- Patriarch bequeaths to preserve the Kyiv Patriarchate as a form of church management, confirming his election as the head of the UOC KP in 1995.
- Separately, Filaret ordered that his funeral and burial took place in Volodymyr Cathedral in Kyiv, and precisely by the hierarchs of the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate, not the OCU.
- He appealed to Ukrainians to protect faith, tradition and independence of the Churchcalling it “the highest way of serving God and Ukraine.”
The document is signed by his own hand with the final formula “By the grace of God, Filaret, Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine.”
We will remind you that Patriarch Filaret sued the Ministry of Culture, which removed the Kyiv Patriarchate of the UOC KP from state registration.
Filaret also talked about the connections of the Ukrainian church with the special services.
