The government computer emergency response team CERT-UA, which operates under the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection, processed 4,315 cyber incidents last year.
This was reported by the press service of the State Special Communications.
This is 69.8% more than a year earlier, when cybercriminals attacked Ukrainian cyberspace 2,541 times.
Most often, attackers attack local authorities, government and government organizations, the security and defense sector, the energy sector, commercial organizations, and telecommunications.
The most common types of incidents are malware distribution, phishing, malicious connection, account or system compromise.
The purpose of the attackers is to steal sensitive information, as well as destroy data and information systems, State Special Communications emphasized.
CERT-UA specialists point out that there is currently a steady trend towards the growth of cyberattacks, primarily on the critically important infrastructure of Ukraine.
The enemy does not stop trying to destabilize Ukraine with the help of cyber weapons. This shows that the confrontation in cyberspace remains one of the hottest points of the war.
The State Intelligence Service assumes that Russia will continue to use all possible methods to obtain information important to the enemy. Destructive attacks against objects of critical infrastructure, in particular energy, will not stop.
During the war, the most valuable information for the enemy is information about the plans of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, data from enterprises of the defense-industrial complex, the government and other organizations that support the military.
To achieve these goals, attackers typically use mass mailings of malware and phishing emails. These types of cyberattacks will remain the most widespread.
We will remind you that earlier in December, Ukraine suffered the largest cyber attack on state registers in recent times. The enemy had been preparing the attack for several months
We also reported that the process of booking employees has already been resumed in Diya. The service was suspended due to a massive cyber attack.
