The Ministry of Social Policy announced the end of accepting applications for a one-time cash payment within the framework of the “Winter Support” initiative. As of today, more than three hundred and fifty thousand citizens belonging to the most vulnerable categories of the population have received approval.

In total, more than four hundred and fourteen thousand Ukrainians applied for help, and so far the state has already financed payments for the majority of approved applications for a total amount exceeding 1.7 billion hryvnias.
Those applicants whose requests have been approved but funds have not yet been deposited into their accounts should receive financial assistance within the next ten days. It is important to take into account that these funds are earmarked and can only be used to purchase specific essential goods. Recipients have six months to spend the accrued amount on medicines, vitamins, warm clothes or shoes of domestic production.
Analysis of the first transactions shows that Ukrainians are already actively using the support provided to prepare for the winter season. The largest number of transactions was currently recorded in clothing and footwear stores, where almost sixty-eight thousand transactions were carried out. In addition, a significant part of the payments was directed to the purchase of medicines in pharmacy chains. The government emphasizes that this approach not only helps to support vulnerable sections of the population in the conditions of the energy and economic crisis, but also stimulates domestic demand for the goods of Ukrainian enterprises.
As of December 16, more than 410,000 people have made payments, and more than 272,000 citizens have already received the funds. You can use this assistance within six months to buy clothes, shoes or medicines.
Meanwhile, the number of applications for the payment of 1,000 hryvnias within the framework of the “Winter Support” program has already exceeded the expected amount of payments by 55%. In total, more than 17 million Ukrainians applied for assistance.
