The national energy company “Ukrenergo” announced the introduction of 24-hour schedules of hourly power outages in all regions of Ukraine on Friday, January 30.
According to the NEK, the restrictions will last from 00:00 to 23:59 both for domestic consumers and for industry, for which capacity limitation schedules will additionally apply. The reason for the stabilization measures remains significant damage to energy facilities as a result of previous missile and drone attacks by the Russian Federation, which led to a shortage of power in the system.
Although the company confirmed the duration of the restrictions, the specific volumes of the outage queues are not indicated in the official summary, as the situation in the power system remains dynamic and can change depending on the level of consumption. The dispatch center emphasizes that consumers should check the exact hours of power outages at specific addresses on the websites or official pages of their local regional energy companies. Energy workers are continuing emergency restoration work at generation and transmission facilities in order to minimize the duration of the shortage in the coming days.
As of January 29, according to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine increased by 1.6% compared to the previous day. In connection with the large shortage of electricity, individual was introduced in Kyiv graphs disconnections adapted to each house. This decision aims to reduce the load on the country’s energy system.
DTEK appealed to the residents of Troeshchyna, warning that calls for protests and road closures are hampering the work of emergency crews trying to restore power in areas affected by blackouts.
