In 2024, Ukrainians have issued 8.3 million microcredes totaling almost UAH 52 billion.

This is 27% more than in 2023, reports the digital service “Openatnatabot” with reference to the data of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The total debt of citizens to microfinance organizations increased 1.7 times and at the beginning of 2025 amounted to UAH 15.77 billion.

The average amount of one microcredite also increased by 26%. If in 2023 he borrowed an average of 4 926 UAH, in 2024 this figure increased to 6 217 hryvnias. About 693 thousand such loans were issued every month.

The highest demand for microcredites was observed in the third quarter of the year, when approximately 729 thousand loans were issued a month. At the end of the year, the number of loans decreased slightly – to 691 thousand per month.

During the year, microcredit debts have changed significantly. In the first three quarters, the debt doubled – from UAH 9.3 billion to a record UAH 18.47 billion.

However, by the end of the year, the debt decreased by UAH 2.7 billion and amounted to UAH 15.77 billion as of early January 2025.

Against the background of increasing the popularity of microcredit, the Verkhovna Rada in November approved the bill No. 9422, which limits rates on such loans. According to the new law, the maximum daily interest rate on micro -credit may not exceed 1%.

This decision aims to protect the borrowers from excessive financial burden and promote more responsible lending.

We will remind, the National Bank has canceled the license of the financial company “Money4yu” (LLC “Manifa”), which issues microcredits. In addition, she has to pay a fine in the amount of UAH 4.28 million.

We have already reported that the National Bank approved the decision not to continue restrictions of 150 000 UAH per month for the output transfers of individuals from the card to the card. These restrictions are no longer relevant due to other solutions.
