The Office of the President of Ukraine held a meeting with the candidate for the post of Minister of Justice — People’s Deputy Denys Maslov. It was attended by the new head of the OPU, Kyrylo Budanov, and the deputy head of the Office of the President, Iryna Mudra.
According to her, she remains in the post of deputy head of the OPU and will continue to coordinate issues in the field of justice both within the country and at the international level. It is, in particular, about the formation and implementation of Ukraine’s international legal policy, as well as work related to holding Russia accountable for aggression against Ukraine.

According to the deputy head of the OPU, the Ministry of Justice may undergo significant changes under the new leadership. She expressed hope that the ministry will cease to be only a body that performs formal administrative functions.
“I am sure that under his leadership, the Ministry of Justice will transform from a procedural administrator to a body that really shapes legal policy in the state and is the main advocate of the state,” Mudra said.
Currently, the final decision on the appointment of Denys Maslov depends on the vote in the Verkhovna Rada. In case of a positive decision of the parliament, a new minister of justice may appear in the government, and the Ministry of Justice itself will receive a new vector of development.
