More than 100,000 foreign students studied in Ukrainian higher education institutions before the full -scale war. At present, only about 10 thousand remained in the country.
This was stated by the Advisor – the President of Ukraine for the Presidential Fund for Supporting Education, Science and Sports Olga Budnik during the New Ukraine Education Conference.
“When we talk about more opportunities, the task of the Presidential Foundation is to create those opportunities here that will force not only Ukrainian students to choose Ukrainian universities, but also to return foreign students here. Before the war, there were more than 100 thousand, today – about 10 thousand, ”Budnik said.
According to her, it is important to create conditions that will contribute to the return of foreign students to Ukraine.
Earlier, we wrote that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is preparing for possible mass deduction of male students aged 25 years after the end of the spring session. This applies primarily to those who use learning as a way to avoid mobilization.
