Today, February 8, the synoptic situation in Ukraine remains extremely unstable.
The daytime warming, which has covered most regions, will be short-lived, because closer to the evening, a new wave of arctic air will begin to arrive from the north.
According to meteorologists, atmospheric fronts will cause precipitation almost throughout the country during the day.
Ice will remain on the roads, which significantly complicates traffic and requires drivers to be especially careful.
In the western regions, the temperature will range from −3°C to +1°C, but in Zakarpattia the air will still warm up to a comfortable +5°C.
Snow and rain are expected, and in the evening hours in Volyn and Rivne region, frost will hit -8°C.
The northern regions will be the first to feel the change in air masses. In the afternoon, thermometers there will rapidly drop to −6…−8°C against the background of a cloudy sky and occasional light snowfall.
In the east of the country, weather conditions will be most difficult due to a combination of rain, sleet and freezing rain.
The temperature background will range from −4°C to +1°C, which will contribute to the instant formation of an ice crust on the surfaces.
The central part of Ukraine will be in the zone of moderate precipitation with temperatures in the range of −6…0°C. It will also be cooler in the south of the country – it is expected to be from 0°C to -2°C, and in some places it will rain with sleet.
A pleasant exception is the Crimean peninsula, where despite precipitation, the heat will stay up to +7°C.
However, the general trend indicates that the next night most regions will be under the influence of a frosty anticyclone.
