In parallel with household restrictions, electricity consumption reduction schedules for enterprises and businesses will continue. This is done in order to reduce the load on the power system and avoid emergency shutdowns.
Ukrenergo explains that the reason for the introduction of restrictions remains the same – the consequences of Russia’s massive missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Due to damage to generation facilities and networks, the power system operates in a difficult mode.
“WARNING! The situation in the power system may change. You can find out the time and extent of blackouts at your address on the official pages of Oblenergo in your region,” Ukrenergo said in a statement.
Energy experts urge Ukrainians to consume electricity sparingly, especially during peak hours, in order to reduce the load on the network and shorten the duration of blackouts.
Also, the light schedules for December 20 have changed in the Kyiv region.
