The higher anti-corruption court announced sentences to seven officials of the state self-supporting foreign trade and investment firm “Ukrinmash” in the case of embezzlement of UAH 3.5 million. The company is a structural unit of the state-owned Ukroboronprom.

According to the court’s verdict, seven suspects, including former and current managers and officials of one of the state-owned enterprises, which is a structural unit of Ukroboronprom, as well as officials of a foreign company, were found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (appropriation or embezzlement of someone else’s property, which was entrusted to a person or was in his care, committed on a particularly large scale or by an organized group).
In addition, they are charged with part 1 of Art. 366 of the Code of Civil Procedure (compilation, issuance by an official of knowingly false official documents, entry of knowingly false information into official documents, other falsification of official documents).
The persons were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 7 to 8 years with the deprivation of the right to hold positions related to organizational and managerial and administrative and economic powers. In addition, the court confiscated a part of the property owned by these persons and at the same time exempted the persons from serving the sentence for committing the criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code, in connection with the expiration of the statute of limitations.
According to the investigation, in 2014-2016, managers and officials of the state enterprise “Ukrinmash” together with representatives of a foreign company, which was supposed to ensure the conclusion of foreign economic agreements and their implementation, organized the groundless conclusion of agreements on the support of foreign economic contracts. They drew up knowingly false acts of completed works for further illegal transfer of funds.
As a result, losses of almost UAH 3.5 million were caused to the state enterprise.
It will be recalled that in August, the High Anti-Corruption Court found the director of the state instrument-making plant, which is part of Ukroboronprom, innocent in the case of receiving 2.44 million hryvnias of “kickback”.
