The scenario for which US companies will start producing natural resources in Ukraine is quite real. However, in the conditions of war, no one will do it.
So the political scientist, director of the Ukrainian Barometer Sociological Service, Viktor Nevzhenko commented on the idea of US President Donald Trump regarding the production of rare earth metals in Ukraine.
The opinion of the people on this occasion says that some legal form of production will be agreed. However, in the All -Ukrainian referendum on this issue, the expert does not believe.
“I think that not only the valid but also the next president will agree with this (extraction of fossils – ed.). Most likely, the next President of Ukraine will turn around the policy of legal production of our resources. But so far, no one is going to get anything. In general, it is a way to humiliate China, all the blackmail of Chinese is the first. And secondly – I will remind that from the Zaporizhzhya region and up to Belgorod is a huge layer of liquefied gas. No one will come to the war zone with any secret technologies. But gas – this technology is known to the world. And this is the best way to sell Ukrainian gas under the guise of American. Therefore, rare earth metals are just a form for the event of American corporations to the competitive territory, ”the political scientist said.
He also points out that if a resource exchange agreement for weapons from the United States is signed, it will mean the continuation of the war. It is about new deliveries, not the old weapons that have already been provided.
