On June 1, 2025, new limits on money transfers began in Ukraine concerning both domestic and international transactions.

This decision was made by the National Bank of Ukraine in order to strengthen control over financial transactions and counteract funds. From now on, Ukrainians need to take into account new rules when making transfers through banks and payment services.

According to the updated requirements, the maximum amount of transfer without opening an account is 30 thousand UAH per day per person. If you want to transfer a larger amount, you must open a bank account and have an identification.

There is also a restriction on international transfers – no more than 100 thousand hryvnias per month. Such measures are aimed at increasing the transparency of financial flows and preventing the financing of illegal activities.

The National Bank paid special attention to transfers through electronic payment systems. All operations exceeding the set limits are subject to mandatory check.

Banks and payment organizations are obliged to record the data of the sender and the recipient of funds, as well as to report suspicious transactions to the relevant authorities. This will combat fraud and financial crimes more effectively.

At the same time, new rules do not apply to social payments, pensions and assistance from the state – these transfers are carried out without restrictions. The National Bank emphasizes that changes are aimed solely on improving the security of the financial system and protecting the interests of citizens.

We will remind, recently Ukrainian banks have agreed to reduce limits on transfers for citizens. PrivatBank has already begun to send warning to its customers.

We also reported that the NBU approved the decision not to continue the restrictions of 150 000 UAH per month for the output transfers of individuals from the card to the card. These restrictions are no longer relevant due to other solutions.
