In Kiev, on April 4, a meeting of “determined” coalitions at the level of military leaders of Ukraine, France and Britain took place. But many countries still plan to participate in the peacekeeping mission.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky told this during a briefing.
“From the beginning of work on the idea of security guarantees, we have held a number of meetings. Today is 2 months as we have been working. The summary meeting today was, it is stage, very important. This does not mean that only three countries – Ukraine, France, Britain – are included in this process, ”Zelensky said.
According to him, many other countries want to send troops to Ukraine, but the president did not name the exact number.
“It will be a coalition. I think the teams need about a month and we think that we will not be ready to understand this infrastructure. We discuss the presence on the earth, in the sky and at sea, as well as air defense and some still delicate things. We will meet weeks and I think that we will meet every week at the level of the military, where it is said separately, ”Zelensky said.
He noted that “we have a lot of understanding that Ukraine needs, where there are sensitive moments where we would like to have support.”
“And it is important that today they discussed not only the number, but the mandate of this infrastructure. It is important for me to understand what stage we can count on the contingent. What stage of the arrangement, ”the President added.
On March 27, another summit of the peacekeeping coalition was held in Paris. It was attended by representatives of the EU, Great Britain, Canada, Norway, Turkey, as well as President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The previous two Samites were organized by the United Kingdom.
The Allies have already agreed that the French-British mission will go to Ukraine, which will work on the strengthening of the Ukrainian army.
France took the initiative of the deployment of peacekeeping forces in the central part of Ukraine, probably along the Dnieper River.
