I said this from the moment when the movement in the Alliance was inscribed in the Constitution. The fact that NATO, when created, was an alliance of powerful in the military-industrial sense of post-war European countries, as well as powerful United States. That is, it was a certain parity.
But then the states continued to increase their MIC, while Europe, on the contrary, reduced the cost of it using the “security umbrella” from America. In fact, it has come to the fact that there is no powerful military industry in Europe, and citizens of developed European countries are not ready to protect their own countries with weapons. This was fully degenerated into some bureaucratic structure.
When the United States of the Trump era refuses to defend Europe when they say that protecting Europe is a problem exclusively in Europe, not the US, then NATO does not make any sense in this case. In particular, for Ukraine, which is much more difficult than the Alliance Member States.
That is, NATO is a bureaucratic structure. From a safety point of view, it is a complete fiction that is only capable of maneuvers and response in the form of regular meetings. Therefore, the future is under the new European security unit that will cooperate with the United States, not to depend on them, and which a full member will include Ukraine. It should be one of the founders of such a block. This is the future that needs to be talked about.
We need to gently slip carefully from NATO. Although I personally do not know how to remove it from the Constitution.
