Naftogaz Group commercial director Serhiy Fedorenko said that Ukraine needs three key factors for a successful heating season: domestic gas production, its import, and effective work with underground storage facilities.

For him in words current gas imports rose to 26 million cubic meters per day, up from 21 million last month. This became possible thanks to contracting and the market situation.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the official start of the heating season is scheduled for October 28. In some communities, heat is planned to be provided already in October, despite possible strikes by Russian troops. Also, the Cabinet of Ministers approved new tariffs for electricity, which will help better prepare for the winter stage.

These measures are important in the context of the energy crisis, in particular against the background of the ongoing military operations in Ukraine, and are aimed at ensuring the stability and reliability of heat supply in households. The situation will be monitored by the relevant authorities to ensure uninterrupted heat supply.
