The vast majority of Ukrainians surveyed (74%) support the initiative of the 30-day armistice without any conditions. In addition, most respondents (53%) consider the last visit of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to Turkey.
This is evidenced by the results of the survey of the sociological group “Rating”.
According to the results of a nationwide survey of the adult population of Ukraine on Turkey, “despite the fact that only a quarter of the respondents believe that negotiations in Turkey will bring us closer to peace, the interviewed believes that Ukraine should continue to demonstrate openness to negotiations, and
Ukrainians believe that “the main causes of Putin’s absence in negotiations are a reluctance to end the war (54%) and fear (22%).”
According to the survey, the level of trust in President Zelensky among Ukrainians stabilized at the mark 70%, which is higher than at the beginning of the year (53-58%).
The survey was conducted on May 16, 2025 by Cati (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing – Telephone Interviews using a computer) among 1000 respondents. Sample format: random sampling of mobile telephone numbers (the population of Ukraine aged 18 years and older in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass, as well as the territories where there is no Ukrainian mobile communication at the time of the survey).
Earlier, the survey showed that the vast majority of Ukrainians continue to believe that the election is impossible to complete the war and the conclusion of a peace agreement.
Theoretically, elections in Ukraine this year are possible, including October 26, but this requires the end of the war and abolition of martial law. No special preparation for the CEC elections is now being conducted.
We have already reported that US President Donald Trump’s special representative from the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, expressed the opinion that holding elections in Ukraine of a new head of state is a necessity.
