Detectives of the main unit of detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine together with employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police exposed illegal production of cigarettes in Chernivtsi region.
A group of persons, which included citizens of Ukraine and foreigners, organized underground production of tobacco products on an industrial scale.
The underground shop was located in a non -residential premises and worked in a hidden mode. To ensure the smooth operation of production, the organizers installed a diesel substation. Industrial capacity was allowed to produce more than 50,000 cigarettes per day, which were sold in Ukraine under the guise of local and European brands.
The searches removed the production line, counterfeit products, raw materials, packaging materials and more than a million excise duty of a foreign country with signs of forgery. The estimated cost of the withdrawn is over UAH 15 million.
A pre -trial investigation is currently underway, which aims to establish all persons involved in the organization of illegal activities.
Earlier, we wrote that Detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security (Bab), together with the SBU, exposed the supply channel of fake tax stamps from Turkey.
Also we will remind that law enforcement officers seized almost 14.4 million packs of counterfeit cigarettes. Only of them, more than UAH 706 million of taxes were not received to the budget.
