There is an alarming trend in Ukraine – more and more young women are leaving the country, choosing their studies at European universities.
According to The Telegraph, in many schools, half of graduates and graduates are deciding to continue their education abroad.
The reason for this choice is not only the desire to receive quality education, but also the constant difficulties associated with war – air anxiety, danger and instability.
Lviv school teachers confirm that more students are considering Europe as a place for further education.
Seventeen -year -old Kira Yukhimenko, who moved to Lviv from Zaporizhzhya region, confesses: “During air anxiety or bombing, it is impossible to study. You have to go down to the bomb shelter and go online. And I want to succeed in learning. ”
Her classmate Tatiana Marviy also plans to enter the university abroad because her sister was unable to pass exams through permanent sirens.
A similar situation is among the guys. Taras Hryvnyak, a graduate of the Lviv Physics and Mathematical Lyceum, is already studying at the University of Vienna. According to him, “half of the boys from his class and as many girls went to Europe.”
Teacher Lyudmila Moccoina confirms – “many children think about emigration, choosing universities in Europe, not in Ukraine.”
The statistics of the Ministry of Education and Science shows that the number of graduates in Ukraine is decreasing every year. This year, only 312,000 graduates were registered for the national multi -grade test, while in 2008 there were 630 thousand.
Experts believe that this trend will continue, and the population of the country can be reduced to 15.2 million by 2100 by 2100.
We will remind, every fourth Ukrainian teenager ages 13-16 is considering the variant of emigration. This is evidenced by the results of the study “Future index: professional expectations and development of adolescents in Ukraine”, conducted in March 2025.
