The updated approach involves Fewer examinations for patients Before and during treatment – the Ministry of Health reduced the number of mandatory tests for diagnosis. Only medical indications will be genotyping of the virus (determination of the genetic variant).
Also after completion of hepatitis C therapy to patients no longer have to undergo regular medical examinations. Visits to doctors will remain for people with fibrosis or cirrhosis.
The Ministry of Health expanded the list of risk groupswhich is recommended to undergo testing for viral hepatitis C. The examination at least once a year is advised:
- people who live or have sex with viral hepatitis C;
- donors of solid (solid) organs and those who received organs as a result of transplantation;
- patients who are prepared for cancer or immunosuppressive therapy (consists in the weakening of the body’s immune response);
- Patients with cirrhosis and other liver diseases.
Updated standards assume that patients aged 12 years will be able to treat use quality drugs, WHO recommended.
The changes will also affect approaches to the treatment of certain categories of patientsSuch as people with renal failure who had a failure experience in the fight against hepatitis, cirrhosis, patients with HIV, pregnant women and children.
