The SBU and NABU exposed two officials of the command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in abuses in the purchase of spare parts for combat aircraft. They caused losses to the state of 27.3 million hryvnias.
As reported by the SBU, the investigation established that during 2022-2023, those involved concluded contracts with a controlled intermediary company for the purchase of aviation spare parts for Ukrainian combat aircraft at an unreasonably high cost.
For the company’s victory in the tender, the officials involved several more affiliated commercial structures, including those with foreign registration. In this way, they created the appearance of competition and secured a contract with the company they needed.
The participants of the scheme took the received “surplus profit” into the shadows through a network of controlled companies.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators declared suspicion against both officials under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – abuse of power or official position, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved. The extras face up to six years in prison.
Meanwhile, the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office sent an indictment to the court against the ex-head of the Central Department of Food Supply of the Rear Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the facts of illegal enrichment and declaration of unreliable information.
Employees of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU detained the assistant chief of the Podilsky district TCC in Kyiv, who offered help with an illegal postponement of mobilization for a bribe.
