The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the Ukrainian military will be encouraged with high salaries even during the ceasefire.

Zelensky said this during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Kyiv.

“We will protect our army of 800,000, we will encourage them with high salaries even on the front line during the ceasefire,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.

In December, Zelensky noted that the peace agreement provides for the preservation of the actual strength of the Ukrainian army — about 800,000 soldiers.

For comparison, in 2022, the Russian Federation demanded a significant limitation of the number of the Armed Forces – up to 85,000 soldiers, 342 tanks, 519 artillery systems and limiting the range of Ukrainian missiles to 40 km.

On Thursday, February 5, the second round of negotiations between Ukraine, the USA and the Russian Federation ended in Abu Dhabi. The main result was the agreement on a new exchange of prisoners after a four-month pause.

The Ukrainian delegation headed by the Secretary of the National Security Council Rustem Umyerov continues the negotiation process in Abu Dhabi in the format of working groups to discuss practical solutions after the main tripartite meeting.

On February 4, the Ukrainian delegation led by the Secretary of the National Security Council Rustem Umyerov and the Head of the State Administration of Ukraine Kyryll Budanov completed the first round of negotiations in Abu Dhabi aimed at settlement of the war.
