She proposed to extend the effect of Article 5 of NATO on Ukraine-the principle of collective defense, which obliges the Member States to defend each other.

It is not a full-fledged NATO membership, but it implies the spread of the Alliance’s protection to Ukraine, ”the Prime Minister emphasized.

The proposal was made against the backdrop of European leaders’ efforts to support Kiev, while the Presidential Administration Donald Trump insists on the end of the war as soon as possible. Last month, US Defense Minister Pete Hegset excluded Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
