Such temperature indicators deviate significantly from the climatic norm, creating an unfavorable environment for the development of crops.
The consequences of the cold spring have already felt local farmers. Kateryna Khomyak, who is professionally engaged in growing berries, told about catastrophic losses in the village of Romanov. At one of the farms, 3.5 hectares of strawberry blossom have frozen, which is a terrific 85% of the total area of plantations.
Market prices have already responded to the situation-the cost of strawberries ranges from 170-180 to 200 UAH per kilogram. Experts predict a further increase in prices for seasonal fruits. April frosts of 2025 also had a negative impact on the crop of apricots, peaches and blueberries.
Apricot prices are expected to increase by 25%, and the apple situation remains uncertain due to damage to bloom.
Recall that in the first quarter of 2025 the cost of housing in Ukraine increased by 11.2% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the total inflation rate in March reached 14.3%.
