May 30 is celebrated annually in Ukraine Steppe Day. The initiators of the holiday were the participants of the Interregional Scientific Seminar “Protection of the Steppe Landscapes of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions”, which took place on March 1, 2017 at the Orgian Information Center. Also, the appearance of this date was facilitated by the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the creation of the Stone Tomb Reserve, which is a traditional symbol of the protection of steppes in Ukraine. The participants of the seminar voted for the annual holding of scientific conferences on the protection of steppe landscapes in the national nature parks.
