Residents of the Lviv region will receive heat in their homes from November 1 – this is the date set for the official start of the 2025/2026 heating season for the population.
This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi.
The region has fully completed preparations for the heating period, but had to postpone the start of heat supply due to the consequences of Russian attacks.
A few weeks ago, the strikes caused significant damage to the energy infrastructure of the region, which affected the timing of the start-up of the heat supply system.
At the moment, the heat is already reaching the priority objects of the social infrastructure of the region. As of mid-October, heating was provided to hospitals, schools and kindergartens in 51 communities of the Lviv region.
In total, 270 preschool institutions, which is 52% of their total number, 531 educational institutions (48%) and 120 medical institutions (51%) are provided with heat supply.
According to the decision of the Regional Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations, by October 18, all institutions of the social sphere and health care of the region were to receive a stable heat supply.
The leadership of the region emphasizes the importance of preparing for the winter period in the conditions of possible emergency situations.
Until November 1, all “Points of Invincibility” in the Lviv region will work around the clock and will be provided with the necessary resources – heat, electricity and access to the Internet.
The deputy head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Andriy Godyk, called on residents to find out the location of the nearest point in advance through the “Action” application, where all locations are marked on a special map.
He emphasized that the points should be not only technically equipped, but also ready to provide support to people in case of crisis situations.
As a reminder, heating will be turned on for Ukrainians for ten days.
People’s Deputy Goncharenko also reported whether there will be enough gas for heating in Ukraine in winter.
