In Kryvyi Rih, as of the evening of January 7, 2026, the threat of critical power outages remains after a series of combined strikes by ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.
Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the city’s Defense Council, warned residents about the possibility of long-term emergency power outages, and urged them to urgently charge mobile devices and stock up on drinking and technical water. Due to damage to energy equipment in the city, emergency shutdowns of large Kryvbasvodokanal pumping stations and boiler plants have already occurred, which has led to a decrease in pressure in the water supply networks.
The massive attack on the city continued during the afternoon of January 7, and the air alarm did not go off for more than five hours. Civil infrastructure objects and private enterprises were hit, as a result of which at least eight people were injured, two of whom are in serious condition. DTEK’s power engineers and utility services are working to stabilize the system, but the situation is complicated by ongoing threats of new strikes and the need to restart more than 30 boiler plants that were temporarily powered by generators.
To support the life of the city in Kryvyi Rih, the work of all Points of Invincibility, where residents can warm up and recharge their gadgets, has been deployed. The authorities note that critical infrastructure, including hospitals, are provided with autonomous power sources, but the residential sector may remain without power for an indefinite period of time until the effects of fires at power facilities are completely eliminated. Residents are asked to maintain informational hygiene and stay in shelters until the alarm is officially lifted, as additional groups of enemy drones are detected in the sky over the region.
On January 7, eight people were injured in a massive Russian attack in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region.
The occupiers attacked the ports in Odesa on January 7, there are victims and destruction.
