Klymenko said that in the Kupyansk direction, which remains a priority for the enemy’s offensive plans, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the pressure of the Russian army. The situation in Donetsk remains no less difficult, where the soldiers of the 1st corps of the Azov State Military University inflict significant losses on the enemy every day, eliminating an average of up to 500 enemy infantry per day.
The units of the border guards and the police, which actively use modern methods of combating the invaders, also demonstrate high efficiency. In particular, the “Phoenix” unit of the State Border Guard Service neutralized more than 1,000 Russian soldiers and damaged about 400 pieces of equipment in just two weeks of December, and the anti-drone teams of the Donetsk region police shot down more than 900 Russian drones in two months. The minister emphasized that the needs of the combat units for the next year have already been fully formed, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively working to provide the defenders with everything they need.
According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is the professionalism and stability of the military, police and rescuers who work under constant Russian attacks that are the main guarantee of the state’s security. During the visit, the issues of logistics and technical strengthening of the NSU corps were discussed in detail in order to maintain the pace of destruction of enemy forces in the hottest areas of the front. Thanks to the clear planning of operations and the timely delivery of weapons, Ukrainian forces continue to effectively destroy the plans of the Russian Federation in the east of Ukraine.
