— Despite the fact that there are sections of the front, which are certainly hotter than the Kharkiv direction, but here the enemy continues to maintain a sufficiently large group, can afford active actions on the front, can afford to conduct active actions by combat reconnaissance in order to determine those places , where the reserve can be applied.

And although the Kursk operation dragged on [певні російські сили]… It is very difficult to say something exactly, we can only talk about probabilities and what we see through our means of objective control. Their reserve has decreased a little, and accordingly, the maximum capabilities have decreased. But they are still something to be feared. So, of course, the enemy has enough strength to maneuver to advance, unless we are strong enough to prevent it.

Is this hypothetically possible? Yes, it is definitely possible. The war is now being waged by highly maneuverable means; and to go such a distance, in order to get such an effect, about which we are talking about it, it is possible.

If we talk about my subjective evaluation, do I evaluate [таке перерізання нашого угруповання] like what might happen in the near future? Rather, I would say no.

If we talk about the area where the Third Separate Assault Brigade is located, then, taking our battalion line of defense, we continue to hold it. Yes, it is difficult, the enemy is trying to repulse it, but at this moment I can state with confidence that we are holding it and will continue to hold it in the future, based on what we have today. But predicting the future is very difficult.

[Ситуацію на] areas where other brigades of the Defense Forces of Ukraine operate, it is difficult to comment. The only way to navigate well at the front is either to be directly on the battle line or to communicate directly with people. I try to consult, frankly, with the fighters of the battalion of unmanned systems, who are directly in position and perform combat tasks, see the demarcation line through sensors, through drones and other reconnaissance means; and the fighters of assault mechanized battalions, who are also there. And it will not be correct to talk about areas where I cannot do so. And it will be, rather, more fantasies than something objective.

But we have to be focused and very attentive to such moments. Because, could it happen? Yes, of course it can. And bigger maneuvers can happen. Whether this happens depends solely on us. We will be strong, we will try to predict the enemy and use his maximum strength and capabilities, (and they still remain large in him), then such an event is not permissible.

— You are with your unit further south on this left bank of the Oskol. If it happens that the enemy manages to break through, if he manages to implement it, then what? What could threaten such a theoretical cutting of our troops on the left bank of Oskol? Is it the deterioration of logistics? Is this an attempt to close the fighting directly to the designated Kupyansk point? I understand that this is not exactly your area of ​​responsibility, not exactly your area, but it will affect you one way or another, right?

— There will definitely be, as well as in general any changes on the front of the Russian-Ukrainian war. All areas have a certain relationship: sometimes this relationship is stronger, sometimes weaker. Yes, of course, I would like to say “where am I, and where is Kupyansk?”. But it is difficult to say something concrete. At the moment, I have not communicated with the comrades who are there.

You are right that this is a situation that will make the logistics worse, it will change [ситуацію нанапрямку]if this happens. Looking at the position of the 3rd assault group and perceiving the front through the lens of the 3rd assault group, I would say that this will not happen in the near future. But anything can happen.

I don’t want to put rose-colored glasses on my eyes, on the eyes of those who watch it. First of all, for us it will increase the battle line, it will worsen logistics, it will create so-called bridgeheads for the enemy.

That is, any advance of the enemy, even if it does not concern you specifically, but concerns areas adjacent to you, creates favorable conditions for him so that he can either place his forces there and prepare a bridgehead for future actions on your positions, or place there are fire means that will be able to more deeply affect your positions, your logistics routes, your rear facilities. That is, it causes pressure and it creates the potential for him to carry out certain actions, for us – definitely negative.

We prepare, we analyze, we also read different resources, get information from different sources and prepare. We consider many scenarios. We were lucky with the commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade, Andriy Biletsky, that he constantly pays a lot of attention to this, which he says “let’s work out several options for events, that is, we will not push back only from the optimal one, but we will also think about this, about this, about this”.

Therefore, we are preparing. No one knows the future – time will tell. If we are strong enough and we all work at 100%, we will be able to avoid it. And if it cannot be avoided, then we will be ready to work with the consequences.

— Very often we see the use of so-called dragon drones, as they are popularly called, or FPV-termites, at the front of the Armed Forces. An FPV drone that drops a thermite mixture that causes massive fires in the landings it works on. Could you explain the effectiveness of this weapon on the battlefield in a more accessible and understandable way?

– Yes, I can even throw in one name, I personally like it better than dragon drones – Drakaris.

— By analogy with the Game of Thrones.

— It was explained to me that it is connected with a certain command given to the dragon to burn everything. Quite a stylish name actually. This is an interesting thing, I will now try to explain in more detail and in simple terms what it is.
