On that day, the Orthodox believers remember all the saints of Ukrainian and new martyrs and confessors who have suffered for Christ in the XX century, honor both the officially canonized saints and all the unknown ascetics who have strengthened the Orthodox faith in Ukrainian life and service.
In addition, the holiday is dedicated to new martyrs and confessors of the XX century, which were affected by persecution in Ukraine and other regions.
Among the Ukrainian saints are particularly revered by the Apostle Andrew the First -Called, St. Vladimir and Princess Olga, Prince Askold, Konstantin Ostrozky and other rulers who contributed to the establishment of Christianity.
