On July 10, World Energy Independence Day is celebrated in the world – a day dedicated to increased awareness of alternative, stable energy forms. The relevance of energy independence for each country becomes a priority area of development. Also on this day, the whole world celebrates Never Tesla’s day. It was on this day that this outstanding Serbian physicist, engineer, rationalizer and inventor were born in 1856. He owns numerous inventions in the fields of electricity and electrical engineering. He is the author of AC theory, he created the world’s first electric engine with AC, and made many other great discoveries that have become crucial for the development of world technologies.
On July 10, the world celebrates an unofficial but important environmental event – the day “Do not come on a bee” (don’t step on a bee day). The purpose of this date is to attract humanity’s attention to the significant role of bees, to involve in the preservation of valuable insects, to emphasize the problem of bees extinction, to increase the awareness of society about this.

Today, July 10, on the Orthodox calendar, the Day of Remembrance of St. Anthony of Pechersky. He is one of the most revered Ukrainian saints, the founder of monasticism in Russia and the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery. He was born in Lyubechi (Chernihiv region) around 983 in a pious family. From childhood he sought ascetic life, and therefore at a young age he went to Mount Athos, which was a well -known center of Eastern monasticism. There he received a monastic vow, lived in modesty and prayer. The Athos elders noticed his piety, and therefore blessed his return to Russia to establish monasticism there.
About 1013-1015 he returned to Kiev. Settled in one of the caves above the Dnieper. He led an extremely harsh life, prayed a lot and fast. Others, who were attracted to ascetic life, began to join. During the reign of Prince Izyaslav Yaroslavovich, Anthony was forced to leave Kiev for a while because the bishop was against the monastery. However, he returned later. The monk died around 1073, not surviving to the erection of the main temple of the monastery – the Assumption Cathedral.
