Italy has started supplying Ukraine with powerful industrial boilers to help cope with the energy emergency. The equipment is intended for critical infrastructure facilities that are most affected by attacks. The total cost of the aid is 1.85 million euros. Italy allocated a support package to Ukraine due to the difficult situation in the energy sector. It is about the supply of high-capacity industrial boilers, which have already started arriving for the needs of the affected regions. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga. According to him, the aid is aimed at critically important objects that have suffered the greatest losses as a result of emergency situations in the energy sector.
The power of the transferred equipment varies from 550 to 3000 kW. Such boilers can quickly provide heat to hospitals, social institutions, water and heat supply facilities, as well as other critical infrastructure without which communities cannot function normally. “This will help the most affected communities to quickly restore heat and critical infrastructure,” Andrii Sybiga emphasized.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that the supply takes place within the framework of responding to the emergency situation in the energy sector, which arose as a result of systematic Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. That is why the emphasis is not on long-term projects, but on quick and practical solutions that give results here and now. According to the minister, Italy’s assistance is an example of operational support for partners at a time when it is most needed on the ground. The received equipment will allow communities to go through a difficult period faster, reduce the consequences of heat interruptions and stabilize the operation of important facilities.
The Ukrainian government also emphasizes that such support has not only practical, but also symbolic significance, as it demonstrates the solidarity of European partners with Ukraine in the face of constant attacks on the country’s energy system.
