Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) note that Russia faces material, personnel and economic limitations that make it difficult to wage a protracted war in Ukraine.
This is reported by the ISW analyst report.
Since the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, the Russian Federation has seized about 908 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, an area comparable to the city of Berlin.
Experts note that part of these territorial gains was due to seasonal weather (fog and rain), which impaired the ability of the Armed Forces to use drones. However, the speed of the Russian advance is likely to slow down as weather conditions stabilize.
Despite recent successes, ISW predicts that it will take years for Russia to capture Donbass. Analysts say Russia’s gains are not inevitable, and the Kremlin is now making significant efforts to force Ukraine to capitulate.
The Kremlin is intensifying its campaign to get Ukraine to surrender critical territories in the Donetsk region, which Russian forces, according to forecasts, are unlikely to quickly capture by force.
Continued military aid from Europe and European financing of the sale of American weapons will likely enable the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the “Fortress Belt” in the Donetsk region for several years and perhaps even return some of the Russian gains.
ISW notes that Russia faces increasing material, personnel and economic challenges that will continue to limit its ability to sustain a protracted war.
During the day of November 21 at the front happened250 combat encounters. The Russian occupiers continue to actively storm in the Pokrovsky direction.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin made new statements regarding the American “peace plan” for Ukraine.
