On the eve of the annual pilgrimage of Hasidim to celebrate Rosh Ha-Shan Ambassador of Israel in Ukraine, Michael Brodsky visited Uman. The diplomat passed the water treatment system to the local hospital.

Ambassador Michael Brodsky met with the director of the Uman Central City Hospital Ivan Khoptyan and Mayor Irina Pletnyova.


“Israel continues to assist Ukraine. According to the decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Hindone Saar, several water purification installations will be transferred to Ukraine in the near future. Today, this installation started working in Uman. Due to this, patients of local hospital and adjacent homes will be able to receive high quality drinking water, ”Michael Brodsky said.
The visit of the ambassador was waiting for a large influx of pilgrims from Israel.
In Uman, tens of thousands of Hasidims from all over the world arrive in the celebration of Rosh Ha-Shan (Jewish New Year). They pilgrimage to the grave of their spiritual leader, a rabby Nahman from Bratslav, who believed that his followers should visit his burials so that he could pray for them before God. For Hasidim, this place is one of the main shrines.
Earlier a delegation from the city of Uman Cherkasy region Visited Israel, where she discussed the development of the city and Ukrainian-Israeli cooperation.
Last year as of the morning of September 13 before Uman for the Rosh Ha-Shan feast arrived 11 thousand pilgrims.
