The State Security Service develops for the Cabinet of Ministers a project to create a register of prohibited software (software). This will be a sanction list for hostile software.
This was reported by the press service of the State Secretariat.
According to the Director of the State Control Department in the field of information protection and audit of the security of the State Secretariat of Igor Stelnik, the issue of hostile software in Ukraine is “very painful”.
“There is constantly mimicing a certain hostile software under domestic or European brands,” he said.
According to him, despite the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, according to which a number of Russian web pages and software products were applied restrictive measures (sanctions), not all users have switched to domestic or foreign software for various reasons.
The recently adopted Law of the 4336s has to be resolved. He obliged public authorities to use software except that he would be included in the register of the prohibited software.
“The State Security Service Administration is now coming to the final stage of preparation of the Cabinet resolution, which will regulate the creation and use of the prohibited software register. Therefore, I would very much like, and even insisted that the process of selecting the criteria for the inclusion of software in this register involved a professional community, ”the Stelnik added.
Previously, the United States of America decided to impose sanctions against the leadership of the Kasper Lab. The reason for this was the risks in the field of cybersecurity.
In 2017, the US Department of Internal Security prohibited the flagship antivirus product of Kaspersky laboratory access to federal networks, declaring ties with Russian intelligence and noting Russian law that allows its special services to force companies to help and intercepts reports passing through Russian networks.
