In Ukraine, a new organization – the Association of Ukrainian Gambling Operators Officially started operating.
It brought together the leading licensed market participants, which together pay more than UAH 10 billion annually.
The Association positions itself as an independent structure that acts as the only voice of legal gambling not only in Ukraine but also in the international arena.
The main purpose of the newly created Association is to restart the gambling industry. Participants seek to form transparent and understandable rules for the market, as well as to strengthen the fight against illegal gambling establishments, especially with online casinos of Russian origin.
The President of the Association Oleksandr Kohut stressed that the organization united “white” operators who are ready to work openly and pay taxes to the country’s budget. According to him, the industry requires new approaches and complete restart to restore society.
Members of the Association undertake to comply with “Standards for Protection of Customer Protection”, which is approved by the Organization Council.
They include “responsible remote game” – a European standard, which provides 134 special measures to protect vulnerable clients, prevent participation in minors, combat fraud, responsible marketing policy and personal data protection.
The development of new standards will be in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Pleititi Agency.
The Association may include gambling operators, software and equipment manufacturers, financial institutions, payment systems and NGOs that will undergo admission procedure.
It should be noted that since February 2025, the state gambling policy is coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the new regulator – the Pleititi Agency – replaced the previous structure of downs.
According to 2024, the gambling industry in Ukraine has brought more than UAH 55 billion in revenue and paid over UAH 17 billion in taxes.
