Law enforcement officers identified and in absentia suspected the Russian police officer for participation in the operations of detention and sending of Kherson’s civilians to Russian torture.

The suspect is a 31-year-old resident of Rostov-on-Don. During his stay in Kherson, he had the title of Senior Police Sergeant and held the post of operative combat department of a special detachment of the Vega Rosgvardia Rostov Region.
According to the investigation, on July 25, 2022, together with a group of Russian soldiers, consisting of about 25 people, the special forces went with a search for an apartment of a 56-year-old resident of the Dnieper district of the city. He and a few more servicemen detained a man, struck him on his body and threatened to use weapons.
Later, the victim was sent to a temporary detention center in the regional administration of the National Police, where the Russian invaders at that time staged a torture.
Together with the two Russian military persons, the person defeated the victim’s hands and illegally imprisoned him in one of the detention center.
The man was kept in exhausting unsanitary conditions – there was no proper ventilation system in the chamber, and food was given in a limited amount once a day. The illegally prisoner was deprived of the opportunity to perform hygienic procedures, he was not provided with medical care, he was not brought to walks.
On the fifth day after detention, the prisoner died.
The Russian police officer is charged with the crime under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of the laws and customs of war committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons. He faces up to 12 years behind bars.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine in absentia has declared suspicion of the General Director of the Russian United Aviation Corporation Yuri Slusar, who supplies combat aircraft for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
