Why did the Rada increase the maximum age of civil servants?
As Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence, explained, in wartime, some of the junior civil servants serve in the Armed Forces, so the state needs experienced personnel. According to him, there are specialists who, even after 70 years, are able to perform their duties efficiently.
Currently, the law “On Civil Service” allows a civil servant to remain in his post after 65 years by the decision of the subject of appointment and with the consent of the employee himself. Such an extension is drawn up every year, but no later than reaching the age of 70.
